Taking Care of Baby Teeth: A Big Role in Dental Health. There was a time when people believed that baby teeth didn’t matter because they were going to fall out anyway. Luckily for our children, we know that neglecting those important baby teeth can cause a lifetime of trouble.
1 in every 5 children aged 5 to 11 years old have at least one untreated cavity! That’s about 5 children in every classroom who have untreated tooth decay. We have joined in on pediatric dental health awareness, because now is the time to prevent cavities! A dentist’s expert guidance can help children to understand how to maintain better oral hygiene.
We in CMR NPS used this day(28/07/2021) as an opportunity to educate our children on oral health. We wanted to promote good dental hygiene habits that support healthy smiles for a lifetime! CMRNPS is elated to host Dr. Vidya as our guest for the Expert Talk. Dr. Vidya is a Pediatric Dentist who addressed PPM and grade 1 and spoke about oral hygiene.
Children were excited and curious to meet the Expert and know about oral health. Children enjoyed learning about “The Functions of the Teeth”, “Toothbrushing”, “Tooth Decay”, and “Diet and your Teeth”: Dr. Vidya also advised them on the kind of foods they should eat or avoid. She spoke very freely with the students. Children excitedly watched video on oral health. They actively participated in the session. She explained on what situations we should visit dentist. Also explained on how to avoid all the dental problems.
She recommended the following steps to maintain good oral hygiene:

- Not to put a finger in the mouth.
- Replace toothbrush every three to four months, or sooner, if the bristles are frayed.
- Clean between the teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner.
